This weekend I decided to attack my scrap boxes and used my favorite house tutorial to make about 50 houses. Once the pieces are cut out, sewing the house together goes quite fast.
I've laid them out randomly on the "design floor" and I can't decide if I should add sashing or just sew them together. Any thoughts?
I guess I'll just keep on building more houses until I can decide how to finish them.
Linking today to Design Wall Monday.
My vote would be yes to sashing. The houses are very cute, but I think a little separation would be good.
ReplyDeleteI agree... yes to sashing. The houses will stand out more. Too cute!
ReplyDeleteI like them just like this - crowded together in a cheerful riot of color. They are awesome! I've been "collecting" house block images on Pinterest... haven't started such a quilt yet but projects like this inspire me. Yours are darling.
ReplyDeleteOMG adorable. This is not going to help any - as I see it will make the votes even - but in a colourful bunch, as is, would be my vote!
ReplyDeleteSo Cute but yes Sash! I love a boarder. x
ReplyDeletelove the houses, I agree a sashing is needed…
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see what YOU decide

I really like them as they are .. they look like a hill side in Italy .. or similar x All jumbled together and using every available space x
ReplyDeleteI like them as they are. Just looks like a really cute village.
ReplyDeleteI like them too and agree with Diane! :)
ReplyDeleteI like them without sashing. Have you tried staggering them somehow? Maybe make some that are narrower and throw them in periodically to mix things up a bit? Just a thought...
ReplyDeleteI know this sounds weird, but I dreamed last night that you made little tree blocks... or something like that. You know how dreams are. Stop me now!
ReplyDeleteI would sash. The houses are adorable.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I like this scrappy little house quilt to be. Sashing or not sashing? My first thought was no sashing...But with a closer look, I would be concern with that 1/4 inch that still need to be taken, the houses might get too small to be sewn together. Not sure on that one.
ReplyDelete(Usually, I prefer the modern look without sashing)
Lovely!
Either the way they are (adorable) or a very thin sashing just to give the little chimneys room to blow smoke from.
