I found my new favorite quilt book at the library last week. I picked it up, put it back, then took it home where it sat on a table for a few days.
I am glad that I decided to crack it open and look inside. Its Quilt-opedia and its full of projects that I cant wait to try out.
This week, I even have a finished top to share.
The pattern is titled "Obsession", but I have been calling it the triangle quilt. Somehow, I think that I'll always remember it as the quilt I made while watching a WKRP marathon.
It is a large quilt that is made entirely from stash fabric.
It is the first time I have ever made a ROYGBIV (rainbow) quilt. The hardest part was selecting and cutting the fabric squares because I wanted to use up scraps. I found that doing this type of quilt will also show you holes in your stash. I'm thinking a shopping trip for orange fabrics is needed.
I am not sure what project from the book I may make next, but I'm thinking I may need a new iPad cover for Quiltcon. Hey, February 2015 will be here before you know it.
Linking my finished top to Finish It Friday and to Whoop Whoop Friday..
isn't it exciting when you feel inspired xx BEST feeling ever x

ReplyDeleteoooh, I like this a lot! How fun!
ReplyDeleteThis looks great, Mina, I'm impressed it came entirely from stash, isn't it great when you make quilts like that - makes all that hoarding and selective buying worthwhile.
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful top! Great work on the value changes!
ReplyDeleteLaura is a clever girl! Your quilt top is gorgeous!!
ReplyDeletevisiting from crazy mum quilts. What a stunning quilt, and to be made from your stash is even better!!
ReplyDeleteThat is a really pretty rainbow quilt. I too need more orange. I recently reorganized my stash and I have ONE scrap of true orange within my yellow/orange drawer.
ReplyDeleteHello! Just found your blog via Crazy Mom Quilts (love her!). I'm enjoying reading and seeing what you've created, and I love this quilt. So much going for it, the low/high volume fabrics and your color sense. Delightful!
