Happy Independence Day everyone!
Earlier this year, when doing spring cleaning of my craft room, I came to the horrible realization that I will never live long enough to quilt my fabric stash! Oh, yes its true. I am out of control with my fabric, scraps, and WIPs.
At first I was quite depressed thinking that I may never need to buy fabric again. WHAT?! So, I have been quite the busy quilting girl, quilting up projects and actually cutting into the stash.
My finish this week is for the scrap basket quilt along benefiting Margaret's Hope Chest. The QAL project is a scrappy rail fence, but quilts in any pattern are accepted, and especially boy's quilts are needed.
When I dumped over my scrap box, I had a huge amount of pink strings in all sorts of widths. Wanting to make the best use of the scraps, I chose a scrappy half log cabin block using the pink strings and a some leftover yellow charms.
OMG, is this a bright quilt! Is it possible to have too much pink? I think I need my sunglasses to look at this quilt.
Now, I am off to make a boy's quilt, maybe something I can look at without needing sunglasses.

I know the feeling .. I have been making my self STOP and dig in my stash before I buy more!! ONLY if I absolutely cannot find what I want will I buy more .. and it is amazing just what I do have!! .. still buy it if I absolutely cannot live without it though!!! lol x It is VERY pink!

ReplyDeleteThere's a girl that will love this pinkness! Nice project. I am making progress in reducing my stash, but there's still way too much. More charity quilts are in my future.
