The Le Challenge theme this month is "the rising sun". I love this challenge because it can be any craft project just so long as its finished and well.......it is just so challenging!
This month I had a few goals. I wanted to do something non-quilty, make something functional, and use a sample fat eighth of orange ombre fabric.
I decided to make a small, simple bag for my recharger cords. I hate to just throw the loose cords into my bag for the iPad, cell phone, camera, and iPod. So now, I can put all the cords into this little bag and know where they are at.
I thought it needed something extra and had planned to embroider a sun on the front panel. But since the theme is the rising sun, I decided to do some sashiko-inspired lines of sewing on both sides.
This simple bag took about an hour to make, which included time to watch the Olympics and to eat a pop tart.
Next month's theme will be announced tomorrow and I hope that you are able to join us. It is always so interesting to see how others interpret the monthly theme.
Lately, I have been enjoying my project from the last challenge theme - precious.
Happy Valentine's Day
