<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The <a href="https://confessionsofafabricaddict.blogspot.com/p/hands2help-2020.html">Hands 2 Help Challenge</a> is one of my favorite times of the quilting year. I work throughout the year to make sure there are plenty of quilts for the challenge.<br />
<br />
This year I tried to very my quilt patterns.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXkuiIHSIu5M22HnzvvowqoGpILFqj2WzbWGCb8l2XJHRAVJwqqQSvwpG11BkVdA3saMw_zeBSwevplCZcNaCGIGM9ohAGtuGEF90M919BFs-9MHlaNeH75o97XPtano4p87DBhz6Gn_A/s1600/bunch.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="720" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXkuiIHSIu5M22HnzvvowqoGpILFqj2WzbWGCb8l2XJHRAVJwqqQSvwpG11BkVdA3saMw_zeBSwevplCZcNaCGIGM9ohAGtuGEF90M919BFs-9MHlaNeH75o97XPtano4p87DBhz6Gn_A/s640/bunch.JPG" width="360" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I will always make a scrappy house quilt. This is my go-to scrap pattern and I always have a stack of these blocks on hand.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOIRMKX3z_PGtrR43KpWBrofgyrfu0VNpYMgsYB8Zmkb3rP575gmUXU0FCS9G6slPRL07_6GTc7fj-p8v3_mSe0aFnkGa0bffydKhMgkU_jnZnFObv_5hIhE0oVWrh70vsYzfG4K8vZOs/s1600/IMG_1839.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOIRMKX3z_PGtrR43KpWBrofgyrfu0VNpYMgsYB8Zmkb3rP575gmUXU0FCS9G6slPRL07_6GTc7fj-p8v3_mSe0aFnkGa0bffydKhMgkU_jnZnFObv_5hIhE0oVWrh70vsYzfG4K8vZOs/s400/IMG_1839.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I guess I did not take many pics of the completed quilts, but I have a few.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBgvuaiqZsgX0yxcQ6rNOgzHUKvahxmaFvS06kp5UHgCdPWwXJVWKAHUw79u8KDjuK24ZatufzhYBnnNAo_KZ8c-2DAbT6vVI6ig2svDwGMl3yVGyL-Q5LnXSTFm4JtG2dUyAcCIzweWA/s1600/IMG_2926.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBgvuaiqZsgX0yxcQ6rNOgzHUKvahxmaFvS06kp5UHgCdPWwXJVWKAHUw79u8KDjuK24ZatufzhYBnnNAo_KZ8c-2DAbT6vVI6ig2svDwGMl3yVGyL-Q5LnXSTFm4JtG2dUyAcCIzweWA/s400/IMG_2926.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Just one more trip to the post office and this year's challenge will be complete.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLlUFbEPkralUaDyt3hdIp74sS1Ne4OMnS5C_VAGoooLTm0RnDgCaQedatMIX424XprKu6tBZxNkFzrB35Pn2_vtU4dFrsEeu9XxYh0LlygXPlK8CYXeO-C1yCC-M1s1NVV7xUsFlaSlk/s1600/IMG_2927.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLlUFbEPkralUaDyt3hdIp74sS1Ne4OMnS5C_VAGoooLTm0RnDgCaQedatMIX424XprKu6tBZxNkFzrB35Pn2_vtU4dFrsEeu9XxYh0LlygXPlK8CYXeO-C1yCC-M1s1NVV7xUsFlaSlk/s400/IMG_2927.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>

🔺 <b>Scrappy Quilts</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://quiltville.com/pdf/happyscrappyhouses.pdf">Happy Scrappy Houses</a> is my go-to pattern for making all kinds of colors and patterns work well together. This large quilt was sent to the <a href="https://frommycarolinahome.com/2019/01/06/carolina-hurricane-quilt-project-2/">Carolina Hurricane Quilt Project.</a> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A smaller house quilt is making its way to <a href="https://needleandfoot.com/2018/11/09/mercyful-quilts/">Mercyful Quilts</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Also sent to Mercyful Quilts was a scrappy Ohio Star.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
This was made from many donated fabrics received at Christmas. It looks difficult, but I used my Go Baby to tame up all those scraps. </div>

It's time for the fall <a href="https://www.amyscreativeside.com/2018/09/17/bloggers-quilt-festival-fall-2018-edition/">Bloggers Quilt Festival</a> and I thought I would share one of my favorite quilts - the Georgia tulips quilt.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Since I give most of my quilts away, I thought that I needed something of my own and was inspired by the cover quilt on the book "Georgia Quilts".</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I really had no idea how to recreate that quilt, so I kinda made up the process as I went along. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<img height="540" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjT80DG2DmphSpoZpOkCDNH5CqNQEyo1ZFoUbyFEOnCgqb-2hIwW6MiEW_Z-aB7b2tJ0d8Gkt_JJiP2IHE4es-m493k-9WXpOTDMDgGWmlAt94iFOcAsgC391RHDO-peYpiDFCEDj7qBn0/s640/tulip2.jpg" width="640" /><br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I used every scrap in my scrap box, and did not edit anything. If it was in the box, it got used and in no particular order.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The string pieced tulips are hand sewn together and then hand sewn to the background. It was then hand quilted in a free-form manner.</div>
<br />
<br />
<img height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLTGg86sGdGZOwXkjbENZQMwnIbKVcHGSIm8wdK1lDDr82ktH-j-8WA7Gdv9YUZTJgvlx_S50DNr7LbPuuish8UavbabWAdLcErCmj0Mi9KAeDzpcGHuL1KBEikyfzmdyTZCvO5r9Xxdw/s640/big+dot.jpg" width="636" /><br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I love seeing this bright, cheerful quilt hanging on my wall everyday! I have even been thinking about making a larger quilt for my bed.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Please check out some of the other quilts shared in the <a href="https://www.amyscreativeside.com/2018/09/17/bloggers-quilt-festival-fall-2018-edition/">Bloggers Quilt Festival</a>.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This year's challenge is now ending and it's time for the final link up.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I thought I may have time to work on another quilt, but the final count for this year's challenge is 8 small, scrappy house quilts that are off to the <a href="https://www.littlelambsofutah.com/">Little Lambs Foundation for Kids</a>. I work on building house blocks throughout the year, that way I have enough blocks to build quilts during the Hands 2 Help season.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The happy, scrappy house <a href="http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2005/06/happy-scrappy-houses.html">pattern</a> is my go to for charity quilts. I really like how well all the scraps work together.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<img height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSUrbaTIqD7uB0DypkhCb0lNzToGFicsjkAHaFqHgys48wCPjpGBeKKzlR2HHjLWoq7qLmMb0VDZmlISZpWq-wFsBUqb08K_ePgJwMTj5WUdME7e5iHZduOtgcgvkLumlG_iFNGHphGMA/s640/DSCN5834+(699x800).jpg" width="559" /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I realized after I mailed the quilts that I didn't get a good photo of the completed quilt, so this photo is from last year's challenge.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Please check out all the other <a href="http://confessionsofafabricaddict.blogspot.com/2018/05/hands2help-its-time-to-link-up-and-show.html">Hands 2 Help</a> quilts and I hope that you join us for next year's challenge.</div>

I have been thinking lately that maybe I should be more careful for what I wish for.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Last Christmas, I wished for scraps - and wow, did I get scraps. I got so many scraps, that I started working on my 2018 Hands 2 Help (H2H) quilts using my favorite pattern <a href="http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2005/06/happy-scrappy-houses.html">Happy, Scrappy Houses</a>. I lost count of how many times I have made quilts using this pattern.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
With the challenge coming to a close, this year I believe that I will have completed 8 (yes, 8!) small house quilts and 2 quilt tops.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdtKfxXVK-QzfIa0Ftn3LpNSs7VuyxZwv9D6Fr1QjM7AyNmg5bH6BgFixUPdnz74EV4jmB9no_y66xw8gjkbeQZzhAIn9h_GO8UQn0tffzRdS6C1Lli0_VZfRZY3VQ28EZJ0l-Sqn8gtM/s1600/house2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdtKfxXVK-QzfIa0Ftn3LpNSs7VuyxZwv9D6Fr1QjM7AyNmg5bH6BgFixUPdnz74EV4jmB9no_y66xw8gjkbeQZzhAIn9h_GO8UQn0tffzRdS6C1Lli0_VZfRZY3VQ28EZJ0l-Sqn8gtM/s640/house2.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It was very hot and sunny outside today, but I did get a quick photo of a few of the quilts. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I hope everyone is meeting their goals for this challenge and I can't wait to see the final quilts. </div>

I came home from vacation and found a box of scraps in my mail. How fun!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I immediately knew that I wanted to make some blocks for this month's <a href="http://katandcatquilts.blogspot.com/2017/04/announcing-cils-new-block-drive.html">Covered In Love</a> block drive. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This month's block is a scrappy stripe block created by <a href="http://quiltingismorefunthanhousework.blogspot.com/2017/05/covered-in-love-first-finish.html">Cynthia</a> who has asked for blocks in warm colors of orange, red, yellow, or purple. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkFm9vA0oujvXeoDHvuRxncVsEjb_Z-hsMaSz4MNZ1im4ZEhOxvQQTfIquYCb8ey6v4wOGOm1mqnh2q3GLv50E2HlcRuni0YjosSJX6vqHvpifqq_Ws8mLwJAUn2mcWwhc2Pss3fGkvi0/s1600/Stripes2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="648" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkFm9vA0oujvXeoDHvuRxncVsEjb_Z-hsMaSz4MNZ1im4ZEhOxvQQTfIquYCb8ey6v4wOGOm1mqnh2q3GLv50E2HlcRuni0YjosSJX6vqHvpifqq_Ws8mLwJAUn2mcWwhc2Pss3fGkvi0/s640/Stripes2.jpg" width="518" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I dont think that I have ever made a yellow quilt before, but seeing all these bright blocks on my design wall make me think I need a yellow quilt.</div>

<br />
Oh, yes I did finish this pair of double star quilts this week for the H2H Challenge!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvhswDAI_6jQwGD9ciTBFT5j9KK_BZkrjZGa9PyD4K1JRRUr4L5QrFnnZEO2BjBBhN_rJeTOqT71XiC3okgfYwbaMze_4nyxNZ7APLgEBU9chyoh7XkBB0nejK4fyzcqVpFW6652Wq9WM/s1600/2Star.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="358" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvhswDAI_6jQwGD9ciTBFT5j9KK_BZkrjZGa9PyD4K1JRRUr4L5QrFnnZEO2BjBBhN_rJeTOqT71XiC3okgfYwbaMze_4nyxNZ7APLgEBU9chyoh7XkBB0nejK4fyzcqVpFW6652Wq9WM/s640/2Star.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Why 2 Star quilts? Well.......I had one complete quilt cut out, but then somehow misplaced a stack of the pieces. So, I went ahead and cut new pieces to make the 1st quilt top. Then, I found the original stack of pieces and thought that I should just add some new pieces and finish a second quilt.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Two more finished quilts for this year's Hands 2 Help Challenge. I have to finish the binding on one more quilt and then I will be done with the challenge. Thank you to everyone who gave me scraps for Christmas. Don't worry, I still have plenty more scraps to get me through 2017 (I think).</div>

It is getting close to the end of this year's <a href="http://confessionsofafabricaddict.blogspot.com/p/hands2help_11.html">Hands 2 Help Challenge</a>, and my projects are starting to get finished. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This weekend I finished another Lolly quilt. It is a wild, scrappy mixture of patterns, but it seems to work together great.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Next up, I am hoping to finish the binding on a few more quilts and then I will move on to working on this month's <a href="http://katandcatquilts.blogspot.com/2017/04/announcing-cils-new-block-drive.html">Covered In Love</a> blocks.</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The blocks sizes are slightly different between the quilts and was determined by the size of the scraps that I had. The bright quilt on the left was made <u>entirely</u> from scraps that I received from several people last Christmas. I couldn't believe that all of theses scraps supported the same color scheme.</div>

Hopefully, I will have a few more quilts completed for this challenge.<br />

I have started finishing my quilts for this year's <a href="http://confessionsofafabricaddict.blogspot.com/p/hands2help_11.html">Hands 2 Help Challenge</a>. An abundance of scraps that I received this past Christmas has led to multiple quilts for this year's challenge.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This week's finish is <a href="http://ohfransson.bigcartel.com/product/fancy-fox-quilts-pdf-quilt-pattern">Fancy Foxes</a> in blue.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlN0J4uzY0G99F9SVH0bWIV8UfbiPoCb0w9UA1OdCPrLoQeqWZkcxZ2E-DKEg14L2PgKPMJyKbmVN7iZOXDJ_0vMSReLjsuWxaHOGEWmQArjDoHRCjC4vy7mpK6GW2IKfNWN_FGjFEEEs/s1600/FOX.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlN0J4uzY0G99F9SVH0bWIV8UfbiPoCb0w9UA1OdCPrLoQeqWZkcxZ2E-DKEg14L2PgKPMJyKbmVN7iZOXDJ_0vMSReLjsuWxaHOGEWmQArjDoHRCjC4vy7mpK6GW2IKfNWN_FGjFEEEs/s640/FOX.jpg" width="626" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is the second time that I have used this pattern and have found that it works great for using all types of fabrics in my stash, both traditional and modern. I made the first fox quilt using my orange scraps.</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

There is still time to join in this year's challenge. Next week I hope to finish another scrappy, happy houses quilt.<br />

One of my favorite times of the quilt year is the <a href="http://confessionsofafabricaddict.blogspot.com/p/hands2help_11.html">Hands to Help Challenge</a> (H2H) and this will be my fifth year participating. There are 3 charities this year and I hope to have quilts for each of them.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="Confessions Of A Fabric Addict" height="195" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/735/32567012651_07bf18f21d_m.jpg" width="200" /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<span style="text-align: justify;">For Christmas I asked for scraps, and wow did I get a lot of scraps! Plenty of beautiful fabric, just perfect for H2H quilts.</span><br />
<span style="text-align: justify;"><br /></span>
<span style="text-align: justify;">This week, I finished the quilting on the first of two </span><a href="http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2005/06/happy-scrappy-houses.html" style="text-align: justify;">happy, scrappy houses</a><span style="text-align: justify;"> quilts. I just need to finish the binding and hopefully I will have a finish this week.</span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_GXm1WoAta1Oz5GxvqpLtfEsxWwtSxIVtH7fD17Xkmcu3n8HX9X2onx2vcK0_RxrqfFsHZ6l048z4XHa8zKNa4zv7-D37kmJ7jAxkC3TW9TJRGwxr1dm9Za20E2ZkqYD9KCmzNRbimTI/s1600/house1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_GXm1WoAta1Oz5GxvqpLtfEsxWwtSxIVtH7fD17Xkmcu3n8HX9X2onx2vcK0_RxrqfFsHZ6l048z4XHa8zKNa4zv7-D37kmJ7jAxkC3TW9TJRGwxr1dm9Za20E2ZkqYD9KCmzNRbimTI/s640/house1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="text-align: justify;">Also while making my challenge quilts, I somehow decided that I had to immediately take control of the overload of scrappy strings. Soon there will be a huge stack of string blocks on the way to </span><a href="http://katandcatquilts.blogspot.com/p/covered-in-love.html" style="text-align: justify;">Covered in Love</a><span style="text-align: justify;">. These are surprisingly fast to make.</span><br />

This week I am making <a href="http://cluckclucksew.com/2015/01/making-heart-blocks-in-multiple-sizes.html">heart blocks</a> for <a href="https://quiltsforcure.org/">Quilts For Cure</a> benefiting children with cancer. I couldn't seem to stop with making just one.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5BeaEn2FT7KeN4ZaxcnVrnbT5a5ft4-KEF_qluYjoHNRhcabHY97CCz23qCd7PVHXispr8hre_Sjr4tKaow4mYsOACvpdeSk_kKGWLF9ha0b4oGmABhxC8sYP09hMVXVWbOt1712-iGs/s1600/Hearts1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5BeaEn2FT7KeN4ZaxcnVrnbT5a5ft4-KEF_qluYjoHNRhcabHY97CCz23qCd7PVHXispr8hre_Sjr4tKaow4mYsOACvpdeSk_kKGWLF9ha0b4oGmABhxC8sYP09hMVXVWbOt1712-iGs/s400/Hearts1.jpg" width="385" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
They are requesting blocks made in color combinations of navy, yellow, and/or white. I am lucky that I received a bunch of yellow scraps for Christmas because this color is always missing from my stash.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The blocks are being collected until Valentine's Day. </div>

I am feeling better this week about all of my WIP's that had started to pile up. I just cleaned off my work surface and feel ready to create again. Out of sight, out of mind - right.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Well, I did finish a Sew Together bag and all of my Fancy Fox blocks, but I still have a ways to go with my other projects. </div>
<br />
I also started and finished a new project.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQ8JjH3Z3sAKRyM23ahbF8B8Ogsnfcfbloktelb8GdWJbb_xzeDZZCBD0Nm0LSPsrYYO3Yzyoue8mQH3oHWtbJjyHpjZy79RsziPcElcAL-_wVSLJ8w45AwW2mTaOddJmRu0wEITmlWx0/s1600/pillow.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQ8JjH3Z3sAKRyM23ahbF8B8Ogsnfcfbloktelb8GdWJbb_xzeDZZCBD0Nm0LSPsrYYO3Yzyoue8mQH3oHWtbJjyHpjZy79RsziPcElcAL-_wVSLJ8w45AwW2mTaOddJmRu0wEITmlWx0/s640/pillow.jpg" width="512" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I finished 2 pillowcases for #theselflessnessproject on Instagram benefiting the Shriner's Hospital for Children. The goal of this project is to donate 100 pillowcases on Valentine's Day. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have been phasing novelty fabrics out of my stash, but thought I would use some of this Star Trek fabric I have been hoarding. I think it turned out fun.</div>
<br />

MUST NOT GIVE IN.........MUST STAY STRONG.........MUST NOT START NEW PROJECTS!!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I just did a quick count of the projects on my work surface and it is 6. Yes, 6 projects right here on my table. I keep wanting to start something new, but I think it's time to tackle the growing stack of WIPs (Works In Progress).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
During the Christmas season, I asked for scraps and wow, did I get a bunch of scraps. There was almost no need to sort them by color because they were overwhelmingly blue. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIY9lSioWTYZlXFNnHrBiK0KMHdymBRBKK9pbKg4H-GwykDAHyGkiRCWy1g9QIi-MnpW-kz5r7FiC577jPn4p7TKlujAS3bUThqidJ2mG7M4akyEF7fBBVCwwJNqdzen26tb_q5vE1hc0/s1600/IMG_1405.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIY9lSioWTYZlXFNnHrBiK0KMHdymBRBKK9pbKg4H-GwykDAHyGkiRCWy1g9QIi-MnpW-kz5r7FiC577jPn4p7TKlujAS3bUThqidJ2mG7M4akyEF7fBBVCwwJNqdzen26tb_q5vE1hc0/s640/IMG_1405.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I thought that all of these varied blue scraps would look fun as foxes. I have almost enough finished to make my first charity quilt top for 2017. It doesn't have a home just yet, but I am sure that it will find one soon. I have a feeling that it will be ready for an upcoming quilt drive for children with cancer.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Maybe if I can get focused and stop thinking about new projects, this will be my first finish of 2017. </div>

My finish this week is a simple scrappy squares quilt which turned out bright, cheery, and fun.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLvhUfhyqArsTvUSMCcM1p8vLIjl5IuS0fzTRFvm4ClYr1jhhqxMqYPhQK4VaWD9t1okhyaOFwMDd8Wv93LjCviZ_A9Q0v8tBLufZ3UD4KsLWhvkdDV6ZIkFbLSMjlfv59Chp5tUH6lD4/s1600/IMG_1312+%2528671x800%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLvhUfhyqArsTvUSMCcM1p8vLIjl5IuS0fzTRFvm4ClYr1jhhqxMqYPhQK4VaWD9t1okhyaOFwMDd8Wv93LjCviZ_A9Q0v8tBLufZ3UD4KsLWhvkdDV6ZIkFbLSMjlfv59Chp5tUH6lD4/s640/IMG_1312+%2528671x800%2529.jpg" width="536" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It was really hard not to keep this quilt for myself since its super soft and warm. This fun quilt was made as part of the annual <a href="http://hastyquilter.net/2016/09/01/the-100-quilts-for-kids-link-up-party-is-here/">100 Quilts For Kids</a>. Tomorrow, it will be sent to a group that is making quilts for older kids in foster care for Christmas. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Next up is a quilt that I am making as part of the <a href="http://quiltytherapy.com/charming-plus-qal-finished-quilts/">Charming Plus Quilt Along</a>. I decided to go with scrappy blues with a pop of orange/yellow using 3 inch blocks. It may take awhile to cut the blocks from scraps, but once you start chain piecing the blocks go together fast.</div>
<br />

I have been trying to finish up some old projects, and I am happy that I have several finishes this week!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpzW4z9Rd8lUAALalkJeXAiBdHozhjicYpSfj9-wV9amPcGw9mXttm-dU4dhFlDdyeZ40ZhKVM1UBgqKz-DwDg-SbR6_gme_KcfwKOom1t7rpIaxW8XoY0x9qTQdAaCrGy5onob2vJe_g/s1600/Pillow.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpzW4z9Rd8lUAALalkJeXAiBdHozhjicYpSfj9-wV9amPcGw9mXttm-dU4dhFlDdyeZ40ZhKVM1UBgqKz-DwDg-SbR6_gme_KcfwKOom1t7rpIaxW8XoY0x9qTQdAaCrGy5onob2vJe_g/s400/Pillow.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This pillow started out as a box of scraps left over from a quilt. I decided to challenge myself to make something useful from these scraps.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXUDadwHgDxva50q4DaNYyCqaMm6NpLhiLhw3w7pjZT8RAObEnBw_X2NDYVnKjdUkwmiAXUJzAs8ThWiBOq61e7la0uvWt_wpG_a_6i6fRUwnPhIskKpsMeXUl9fJ-vNGSEmHdnKQm3LQ/s400/Gray1.jpg" width="400" /></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A QAYG (quilt-as-you-go) pillow seemed to work just great. I even sewed my first invisible zipper, which I kinda made up as I went along. Hey, that happens sometimes.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
My second challenge was to make something useful out of some itty, bitty scraps saved from another quilt. These very small scraps became a cute little pouch made from a wonky log cabin.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZnB1GZbMR8KjtgWeRq6OntLS3Lt34AxFkh4Xp3i0KWhbzgDRWQu8h7Dvum5zruIbumq5CoL7_HzyI0Q_YIn44-4sbUq92riZrMM-ujjeHBGeFoTJs9p7PZZbLX2yZA456t4wonTSqhcw/s1600/MP+Pouch1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZnB1GZbMR8KjtgWeRq6OntLS3Lt34AxFkh4Xp3i0KWhbzgDRWQu8h7Dvum5zruIbumq5CoL7_HzyI0Q_YIn44-4sbUq92riZrMM-ujjeHBGeFoTJs9p7PZZbLX2yZA456t4wonTSqhcw/s400/MP+Pouch1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I can see myself making more of these pouches as Christmas gifts. <br />

I am so happy to have a finish this week. I had only planned to make a few blocks, but they were so easy that I kept making them. Soon, the top was finished and it was quilted with a straight line serpentine stitch.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgizDDnn_nsBrpPG4M9ZUfjJyLvYlq63SfPiaNcbWCSHG_L5z9VTGINUC6Qfqg6-bYECXs__B_EZ86fzG8qOr5W3dpClr933tY9EDwEWpaNzZAc3dRpcvm4oFgHIyNk7yhnrR9aWilu4wI/s1600/Pulse.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgizDDnn_nsBrpPG4M9ZUfjJyLvYlq63SfPiaNcbWCSHG_L5z9VTGINUC6Qfqg6-bYECXs__B_EZ86fzG8qOr5W3dpClr933tY9EDwEWpaNzZAc3dRpcvm4oFgHIyNk7yhnrR9aWilu4wI/s640/Pulse.jpg" width="526" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Orlando Modern Quilt guild is asking for bright and cheery <a href="http://cluckclucksew.com/2015/01/simple-heart-quilt-tutorial.html">heart blocks</a> to make quilts of comfort for all those in need of a quilty hug. Quilt #2 is cut and ready to get started.<br />
<br />
It was fun working with all my scrappy brights and I think it will be entered into the scrap quilt challenge at <a href="http://persimondreams.blogspot.com/p/scrap-quilt-challenge.html">Persimon Dreams</a>.</div>

Up on the design wall today are the scrappy blocks I received for May's Quilters Bee Mod. I know that more <a href="http://thelongthread.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/crossed-quilt-block.pdf">Crossed blocks</a> are coming my way, but it may be time to start thinking about where this project is going. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJQQ8NctEUW0Gk5tATJy9CHcUApiZo7LpP5jB-B-QY-0b8QK_-Vie-YwRINvX40VQ6JCBP2UH2aj8D8OXnYNgSqLYkqp6JlcYi9IB_y8bk1vJNX3zt4m0wb9lPNwemIGzdUrc7ma0gt6k/s1600/IMG_1095+%2528747x800%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJQQ8NctEUW0Gk5tATJy9CHcUApiZo7LpP5jB-B-QY-0b8QK_-Vie-YwRINvX40VQ6JCBP2UH2aj8D8OXnYNgSqLYkqp6JlcYi9IB_y8bk1vJNX3zt4m0wb9lPNwemIGzdUrc7ma0gt6k/s640/IMG_1095+%2528747x800%2529.jpg" width="595" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Another project I want to work on is a Deer pattern that I won from <a href="http://handandneedle.com/new-products-1/deer-baby-quilt">Hand and Needle.</a> I have so many fabrics and colors that I want to try with this pattern that I am having trouble finalizing the design. I think I need more time to pick out the colors.</div>

This Friday's finish is a scrappy quilt based on the <a href="http://static.fatquartershop.com/media/wysiwyg/pdf/NoBakeJollyBar-Pattern.pdf">No Bake Jolly Bar</a> pattern. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>

It was made as part of the <a href="http://confessionsofafabricaddict.blogspot.com/2016/05/hands2help-its-time-to-show-off-your.html">2016 Hands to Help</a> challenge and has already made its way to <a href="http://katandcatquilts.blogspot.com/p/covered-in-love.html">Covered in Love</a>.<br />

Next up is a bright and scrappy Lolly quilt that was sent to Happy Chemo. This quilt was made with many gifted scraps that I received last Christmas.</div>

Woo hoo, I finally have a finish! Finishing my lime spider web quilt was on all my to-do lists in 2015 and now its completed.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcVXBpwSU4dY8SMGIqwQlTRN9k-ktgjxWe3rpQm4hiz6-ykXY-aazs_7sxcUG_ihyAPhAi-yHUNdwT2eD7fTTXjuZjsZOws5NwxYCT7EAD0ejFH3ez8hVK-uLooMYxo2KfuJuK_FE490g/s1600/Lime+Complete.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcVXBpwSU4dY8SMGIqwQlTRN9k-ktgjxWe3rpQm4hiz6-ykXY-aazs_7sxcUG_ihyAPhAi-yHUNdwT2eD7fTTXjuZjsZOws5NwxYCT7EAD0ejFH3ez8hVK-uLooMYxo2KfuJuK_FE490g/s640/Lime+Complete.jpg" width="576" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is my second spider web quilt. If you have a scrap problem, try this quilt pattern as my scrap boxes were emptied several times. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Every time I had enough scraps, I would make up wedges.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQFJnI9l6UHaJdHAWfqox8uqjsM5LlI-jm3vRqCu__2Uex1m8iRiHoW4mPuELsz-WUgFQTiKYlXvUHxk-l5eDSR9371qO-lu1c7YbyoNkhMqzTBl2ZtygYHaTWI6VO-Rrm6Np_JzROoqk/s1600/DSCN4396+%2528800x564%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQFJnI9l6UHaJdHAWfqox8uqjsM5LlI-jm3vRqCu__2Uex1m8iRiHoW4mPuELsz-WUgFQTiKYlXvUHxk-l5eDSR9371qO-lu1c7YbyoNkhMqzTBl2ZtygYHaTWI6VO-Rrm6Np_JzROoqk/s640/DSCN4396+%2528800x564%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But then it took awhile for me to find the time to hand quilt it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizIFbY9ltU_aZTGX2gFfa4tj6zawPZrh1bUaqPI7M7p78ACiF2ODB9qUdlEG02qUZnwWmzEYA64lM-5jNRxbTZhyYRaOsZgf5kvKv6PSpP6tUyoReI5kH1D_AS7MfnJDH0ftuK-FD_h04/s640/Lime.jpg" width="480" /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I think that the red quilt is still my favorite.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

I joined my first bee last year, and May is my month for the Quilter's Bee Mod. My goal was to choose a block that was modern, easy, and scrappy. I chose the <a href="http://thelongthread.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/crossed-quilt-block.pdf">Crossed Block by Ellen Baker</a>. This <a href="http://thelongthread.com/?p=7551">block</a> has been on my to-do list for some time.</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiclUiKd_uaSO4rCUh4JMuOeur4LGRM1ShLExoaTw8EbB-1xTGotWeo-NGkUec1z8xXg9N9p5CABUIHpkf7fCpEFcIyBHGK0_6F018cZ8etJysKAfvP17heY8WVc7UhqKo9LAcfJBkc39U/s1600/Crossed+samples.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiclUiKd_uaSO4rCUh4JMuOeur4LGRM1ShLExoaTw8EbB-1xTGotWeo-NGkUec1z8xXg9N9p5CABUIHpkf7fCpEFcIyBHGK0_6F018cZ8etJysKAfvP17heY8WVc7UhqKo9LAcfJBkc39U/s640/Crossed+samples.jpg" width="616" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
These sample blocks were made using low volume backgrounds and I added my favorite color, dark blue, somewhere in the block.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I can't wait to see what all my bee mates create. I think this block meets my criteria of modern, easy, and scrappy, but it's also fun!</div>

2016 so far has been the year of the missing sewing mojo. But, I think I may have found one reason why I dont want to sew lately. My Janome 8900 has been skipping stitches, which is so frustrating! This problem has been on-going and I have tried using all sorts of new needles, different brands of threads, cleaning the machine, and switching out feet.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This weekend I was determined to quilt up the tops for this year's <a href="http://confessionsofafabricaddict.blogspot.com/p/hands2help_11.html">Hands 2 Help Challenge</a>. It was a frustrating mess of skipped stitches everywhere. It got so bad that I started looking at new machines. I googled the problem and found that the Janome purple tip needles may be the answer.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinIK_F8QVam8MtkzsU0NWXrG1ux-FuhTeLvh138E8hAwK7ZoWfhoYrZQ4jj1SJWE0ZFRxQcfMMWBqsoKzJ3A1faGVWlm1FegH6kcoUSyEUhw65mdWpzWK25xsOhCs3ie9O6mSylHnKS5c/s1600/IMG_1036.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinIK_F8QVam8MtkzsU0NWXrG1ux-FuhTeLvh138E8hAwK7ZoWfhoYrZQ4jj1SJWE0ZFRxQcfMMWBqsoKzJ3A1faGVWlm1FegH6kcoUSyEUhw65mdWpzWK25xsOhCs3ie9O6mSylHnKS5c/s400/IMG_1036.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I spent all day Saturday searching for these needles in different shops and bought the last pack in the 4th shop I searched. Could this new needle really be the answer to all the frustrations?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
YES! I started testing the needles first by sewing together a stack of <a href="http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2005/06/happy-scrappy-houses.html">scrappy house blocks</a> with no problems.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqFypE45JdEkcwWW2yaKkKVgJpSCg7_UsfxYlEZBUiFJNUA7tJIBBDxu0TIwQ-bVVQn4SbELxODpExyJVrcFFK5UeN9rt1vksWTxZ33M_J2bO8xhH18IgqFt1z6C4rJ4qceYuQig92p8c/s1600/IMG_1037.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqFypE45JdEkcwWW2yaKkKVgJpSCg7_UsfxYlEZBUiFJNUA7tJIBBDxu0TIwQ-bVVQn4SbELxODpExyJVrcFFK5UeN9rt1vksWTxZ33M_J2bO8xhH18IgqFt1z6C4rJ4qceYuQig92p8c/s400/IMG_1037.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Next it was time to quilt. Just simple straight line quilting. So far, so good. Everything was working great, but then came the big test, Could I attach binding without skipped stitches? It seems that this is where there is always a problem with the machine. There are always skipped stitches sewing through multiple layers of fabric no matter what type of needle, thread, or foot that I used.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSEcR4vfxoH9p8ADKaPICyrg7NHezJoV_4Cxqpxtx82On4x46yb1PQRRpIJFc0y16Pm0WpzdDtj-uPDEMoX6xW-tIUfKcusPJXaT5gX1m2jv7vH9cHkacY63Y6m_j2mnRHiMOBQ3ltybc/s1600/IMG_0388+%2528800x690%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="345" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSEcR4vfxoH9p8ADKaPICyrg7NHezJoV_4Cxqpxtx82On4x46yb1PQRRpIJFc0y16Pm0WpzdDtj-uPDEMoX6xW-tIUfKcusPJXaT5gX1m2jv7vH9cHkacY63Y6m_j2mnRHiMOBQ3ltybc/s400/IMG_0388+%2528800x690%2529.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The binding was sewed on great without any skipped stitches, and I have one finished quilt for the <a href="http://confessionsofafabricaddict.blogspot.com/p/hands2help_11.html">H2H Challenge</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The quilt pattern is Lolly from Tula Pink which I have made many times. It was made with scraps I received last December, when I wished on Instagram for scraps. This will be my first entry into this year's <a href="http://persimondreams.blogspot.com/p/scrap-quilt-challenge.html">Scrap Quilt Challenge</a>.</div>
