It's time for this month's Le Challenge. The theme is "wings" and I have to admit that when I heard this, I was really stumped. I knew that I wanted something graphic and kinda a continuation of last month's "geometric" theme.
This mini is inspired by airplane wings and finished at 17 x 15.
I started by googling "wing shape" and was amazed at how much stuff is out there. Everything that I saw, I kept thinking - how can I break this down further and make it more basic. In the end, I tried to mimic the angle of an airplane wing.
Putting the top together was the easy part, but settling on a quilting design took days. I decided to quilt wavy-ish lines while stitching at high speed. I wanted a feel of air movement over the wings.
Please check out the other "wings" inspired creation at Le Challenge.
