City Sampler Quilt Along - Tula Pink

Last week, I decided to hunker down and concentrate on finishing some projects since I have a huge stack of WIPs.

It really started when I saw my bright spider web quilt top looking kinda sad.  I had been wanting to make this for my bed and hope that this will be a great way to start the day by waking up to something so cheery looking.

My plan was to hand quilt it and I finally got started.  I was sitting on the floor just sewing away when my dog decided to sneak across it.  I told him to "STOP", but it was too late.  He froze and plopped over trying to play dead.

I took a quick pic and then told him to move.  He just froze and acted like he didn't understand me.  Nice try, but no - he had to move off the quilt.  I am really hoping to have this finished and ready to show soon!

Today is the day to show off our blocks 13-15 in the City Sampler Quilt Along.

For block 13, I changed the color placement and it makes for a different look.  Its kinda like a giant hashtag.

Block 14 was made with Tula's Prince Charming.  I cant wait for her new Acacia fabric to come out.

City Sampler QAL - Blocks 10-12

Sew Sweetness

A short blog post today, as we are showing off our blocks 10, 11, and 12 for the City Sampler Quilt Along.  I cannot believe how fast these are made and use such small pieces.  If you are like me and love to save scraps, I think these blocks would be a great way to showcase your precious scraps.

The prizes for those linking up this month include some Tula Pink Aurifil thread that I have been wanting to try (insert squeal of giddiness here!).

More blocks can be found at Sew Sweetness.   I am getting excited to see everyone's finished projects since such a variety of fabric is being used on these blocks.

City Sampler Quilt Along - Blocks 7-9

Sew Sweetness

I have jumped ahead quite a bit making these blocks, but they are quite fun to make and finish at 6 1/2 inches square.  This week is the link-up for blocks 7-9.

Block #7 was made with Parisville fabric.

Block #8 was made with my favorite Tula Pink fabric line - the Birds and the Bees.

Block #9 was made using Parisville fabric.  I really, really love using this "eye drop" fabric.  I think it works so well in any block where I have used it.

Design Wall Monday - Maritime Challenge

Sew Sweetness

I have finished my Tula blocks and thought I would have some time this weekend for sewing the top together, but I had to stop and make a quilt for my mom to give to her sick friend.  Maybe, having a project break was good because I am still waffling on the final layout.  Not sure if I will stick to a grid layout, or attempt something more complicated.

So, I think its on to a different project.  The Le Challenge theme this month is "maritime" and the linkups are on the 15th.  I can't believe it, but I have been through my stash twice and still do not have a plan or any inspiration.  Nothing like waiting till the last minute on this project.

But, I am happy to get a package today.

Terri at From Here To Quilternity is taking here shop in a new direction and is having a blow out sale.  I love to shop from this site as I always get my order right away.  Some of the fabrics I saw were as low as $1.95/yard.  I bought some Amy Butler and Tina Givens.  Unfortunately, no fabric will help me with the "maritime" challenge.

Also, the 2013 Lets Get Acquainted blog hop has started at Plum and June.  I had a great time last year and can't wait to visit the stops in 2013.

City Sampler Quilt Along - Tula Pink

I am still continuing with the City Sampler blocks for the Tula Pink QAL

Sew Sweetness

So far, I have 47 of these little blocks finished.  But, today is the day to link up blocks 4-6.

Block #4 is modified slightly from the original.  Since I am using solid scraps, I found that these scraps fit perfect for this block.  The Tula Pink fabric is from Parisville.

Block #5.  Not sure which Tula Pink collection these fabrics are from since they came through a swap.

Block #6 using fabric from my favorite collection - the Birds and the Bees.

It may by time to start figuring out how I am going to put them all together.  I am leaning toward using the 100 blocks and making the cover quilt.
